Crochet Beginners - Cessnock

Crochet is much more than a Granny Square! The therapeutic and health benefits of crochet are well recognized; and as a sustainable textile craft - homewares, accessories, and wearables can be made using short-end and leftover yarn in various colours, weights, and textures creating items for yourself and gifts for friends and family that are not only functional but also unique. 


Week 1 - introduction, tools slip stitch and chain 

Week 2 - yarn, circles, granny square 

Week 3 - hooks, colour change, weaving in ends 

Weeks 4 - 6 - In the final weeks of the course, choose your own project to work on - a bag, a cowl or face scrubby set.

This course has been designed for beginners, learn the basics to get creative!

·         No prior experience needed

·         Contact us if you are under 18 and interested in joining the class

·         Please let staff know on enrolment if accessibility is required so that a ground-floor classroom may be organized

3 hours x 6 weeks


Course enrolment must be accompanied by a fee; we are unable to hold places for people or accept deposits on Lifestyle courses. Once enrolment is completed students will receive a course confirmation either in writing or by email.  This course confirmation constitutes a receipt.

Parking fees may apply at some venues.
