French Intermediate 2

In French Intermediate 2, acquire a more detailed understanding of spoken French; increase vocabulary, grammatical and cultural knowledge; and further develop conversational skills.

This course level presumes approximately 40 hours of prior learning/tuition/experience in French.

The course you will learn:

1.      General formats in picture books.

Story structure.

Use of repetition and sensory experience.

2.      Dealing with emotions (fear, resentment, anger).

Conflict and resolution. Tension.

Storyboards.

       2D Backgrounds.

3.      Anthropomorphism, representing readers through stories with animals or objects.

Metaphor and other figurative language elements.

Fables and moral lessons.

       3D backgrounds.

4.      Children’s literature through time (a reflexion of society) evolving characters and relationships.

Language and voice.

Narration and dialogue.

       Visual and tactile textured backgrounds.

5.      Cultural echoes, stories found in different cultures.

The female representation and feminism.

Myths and legends, origins and change to maintain the status quo.

       Symbolism in shapes and colours.

6.      Dealing with big issues (war, refugees, illness, divorce, death).

Verbalising trauma and suggesting healing paths.

Difference between tone, mood and atmosphere.

       Framing, composition.

2.5 hours x 6 weeks

Course enrolment must be accompanied by a fee; we are unable to hold places for people or accept deposits on Lifestyle courses. Once enrolment is completed students will receive a course confirmation either in writing or by email.  This course confirmation constitutes a receipt.
