MIG Welding - Beginners

This hands-on MIG welding course is led by industry expert boilermaker Wayne Grant from the Newcastle Men’s Shed. In this course you will learn both practical and theory components of welding, including safety, pressure, amps, wire speed, basic maintenance of a welder and troubleshooting!

This course is held on site at the Newcastle Men’s Shed at 143A Kings Road Adamstown (access via laneway) for 4 hours per week x1 weeks. All materials are included in the cost of the course.

Fees

Course enrolment must be accompanied by a fee; we are unable to hold places for people or accept deposits on Lifestyle courses. Once enrolment is completed students will receive a course confirmation either in writing or by email.  This course confirmation constitutes a receipt.

Parking fees may apply at some venues.

Enrolment

To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.

Confirmation

Please check your confirmation letter to ensure you have the correct time, date and location of your course as well as any necessary requirements. There is a room directory located at each venue directing you to your classroom.

Bring With You

 ·         Water and lunch

·         Notebook and pen

·         Reading glasses if you wear them

Safety

·         Solid covered footwear – leather workbooks, preferably steel-toes (no sports shoes).

·         Long sleeve shirt and long leg trousers that cover tops of footwear – 100% cotton, no flammable materials.
