Sorbian Easter Egg Decorating

Come join us for an Easter-themed workshop like no other, where you'll have the opportunity to create your very own personalized decorative eggs using European traditions with ancient pagan origins. With expert guidance from Nina, who learned these techniques from her mother Ingrid, you'll explore a variety of egg decorating methods with a particular focus on the Sorbian approach, which is native to the Slavonic minority in Saxony, Germany.
In this workshop, you will work with real eggs and discover how to blow the egg whites and yolk out using either your mouth or a pump in class. You will also learn about the special hot wax technique that has been used for centuries, experiment with various patterns and designs, and become familiar with the necessary tools to continue creating your masterpieces at home. By the end of the session, you may even start a new Easter tradition for your family!

This workshop is suitable for adults and children who want to bond over a creative activity. However, as hot wax techniques will be employed, children under 16 must have an adult enrol in the course with them.

Course enrolment must be accompanied by a fee; we are unable to hold places for people or accept deposits on Lifestyle courses. Once enrolment is completed students will receive a course confirmation either in writing or by email.  This course confirmation constitutes a receipt.
