Why I love to teach and my experience
After contracting meningitis when I was 21 months old and I have became profoundly deaf. I attended School for the Deaf Girls at Waratah where they taught us to lipread and speak, which can be very difficult at times.
I learned to sign Auslan later in life and because it gave me such freedom of expression, it became a passion. This motivated me to study how to teach Auslan. I have been doing this now for over 25 years at University, schools, AtWea, Tafe, preschools and in private tutoring.
I love new experiences and meeting new people and I feel so honoured to share this empowered gift with others.
My teaching style
- I use my own curriculum for 8 week course.
