Why I love to teach
Teaching in this volunteer capacity contributes to the community. The outrigging experience provides an opportunity for students/ participants to be on the water in Newcastle and appreciate the working harbor from a different viewpoint while having some fun.
My experience
Member of Newcastle Outrigger Canoe Club since 2016.
9 years full time teacher of Surveying and Civil Engineering – Hunter Institute TAFENSW. Additional 5 -6 years part time teacher.
Surf Lifesaving instruction – First Aid & Bronze Medallion
My teaching style
Encourage learning through participation and enquiry.
Something unique/interesting about me
I have always enjoyed being on the water – sailing, surfing for 47 years, surf lifesaving and now outriggers. I also enjoy art.
