Why I love to teach.
It all started as a teenager when coaching younger kids to learn the recorder, cheering with them as they progressed from ear piercing squeaks to melody.
I was hooked on teaching!
I love teaching my native language and through this encourage others to explore other cultures. Learning any language is a window to a new perspective and view of the world, fostering appreciation of diversity and inclusiveness. And as a bonus, it helps students in understanding their own native language better and improves general language skills.
I love teaching in the relaxed and stress-free environment which Atwea “Learn for Fun” classes provide.
My teaching style.
In my language teaching, I favour an immersive, interactive and hands on approach whilst respecting individual learning styles and providing an inclusive, relaxed, and friendly environment. My focus is on developing verbal communication skills in German from the start, backed by vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing skills. I like to include a variety of teaching material, including audio-visual material such as music and film. It’s a pleasure to observe students lose their initial shyness to speak and progressively become more confident.
