Why I love to teach
Tennis coaching combines the healthy lifestyle of outdoor exercise with the positive psychological experience of engaging with a wide range of enthusiastic people all with a story to tell.
My experience
I am sports tragic whether it’s following the Australian cricket team, or my beloved Newcastle Knights or playing tennis. Tennis has been my passion for over 50 years and a qualified coach for 39 years. I have been Head Coach and managed tennis centres for 35 of those 39 years. My enthusiasm for coaching remains as energized as ever, coaching up to 30 hours per week and managing Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre. I have been the Northumberland regional coach and the Head Coach for the Hunter Academy of Sport tennis program. A number of my students have competed at junior national level with some progressing to the pro tour. My playing career fell a little short of the Professional Tour but I was a N.S.W. country representative, won Australian Money Tournament level singles and doubles events in tournaments around Australia and overseas. I continue to enjoy the challenge of improving every day and passing this ideology onto my students.

My teaching style
I pride myself in delivering every lesson with energy, enthusiasm and a big smile. Many of my students call me “Mr. ever ready man”
Something unique/interesting about me
I have been coaching continuously for 45 years and playing continuously for 55 years. I am a total sports nut and a passionate Newcastle Knights supporter.
