In this beginners class you will learn basic welding skills and techniques to safely & correctly use on small projects. Learn to weld light steel metal materials together for Metal Art constructions. The Course will include an introduction to Gasless MIG Welding

Fees
Course enrolment must be accompanied by a fee; we are unable to hold places for people or accept deposits on Lifestyle courses. Once enrolment is completed students will receive a course confirmation either in writing or by email. This course confirmation constitutes a receipt.
Parking fees may apply at some venues.
Location
- Delivered in partnership with the Elermore Vale Men's Shed.
- The Men's Shed is located at Rear 129 Croudace Road, Elermore Vale, on the grounds of the Elermore Vale Community Centre.
- Turn off Croudace Road into the driveway near the Early Learning Centre and proceed to the car park at the back.
Enrolment
To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
Confirmation
Please check your confirmation letter to ensure you have the correct time, date and location of your course as well as any necessary requirements. There is a room directory located at each venue directing you to your classroom.
Bring with you
- Participants are required to wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt, with fully enclosed leather shoes or boots (steel capped preferred).
- For work health and safety reasons one-piece cotton drill overalls or cotton drill clothing.
- Welding gloves (students to supply their own welding gloves)
- This course is not suitable for people who have a pace maker or if you wear contact lenses
- Wear closed in shoes
- No loose long hair
- No loose jewellery
Safety
Atwea College has deemed this as a high risk activity. For your personal safety we have introduced the following pre-requisites for this course.
Students are not permitted to attend class if they are under the influence of alcohol, illicit drugs or have taken medication that carries an equipment operations warning (Students will be asked to leave if they are in breach of this requirement)
Students are not to operate machinery if they are fatigued or unable to concentrate for periods of 20 minutes or more.
This activity requires a level of physical strength and coordination. Students must be able to support and control tools and machinery while undertaking this activity.

- Pre-requisites & conditions are set to ensure maximum safety to students, trainers and volunteers. In conjunction with Elermore Vale Men’s Shed, Atwea reserves the right to decline or terminate a student’s enrolment if the trainer feels they do not meet set pre-requisites or course Terms & Conditions.
